Last years many different weight loss products claim their slimming ability based on a green tea extract. And often such cluims not supported by science researches.
Recent studies show that green tea extract effect for losing weight purposes are very modest.
You should know that green tea is a natural source of caffeine. Which is increase metabolism and increase energy levels. It is allow to burn more calories. That's why you need a proper diet and exercise to achieve noticable weight loss effects.
Ok what about weight loss claims of the green tea extract products?
Beside caffeine green tea have its antioxidant epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) known to encourage thermogenesis in the body. This combination really can help you lose some pounds. However There are some other components which you should be aware off. For example Guarana, Garcinia cambogia, Hoodia gordonii.
On average, study participants taking green tea lost only 1 to 3 pounds more than subjects taking a placebo.
So think again before buying any green tea extract diet supplement. Its much better to brew a fresh cup of natural organic oolong tea.
